Multiple music videos have been planned for next year, with Guy (and sometimes) Justin both as directors. Guy has been filming potential videos and writing out the sequences now for around 7 or 8 years but has only recently had the means to turn all of the projects into actual music videos. A video for Like A Child was filmed in entirety at the beginning of 2011 along with parts of a video for Lonesome Death Song. The newest album (Soft Madness) will see the release of its second video, Last Breath Before Coma, which will be taken entirely from Guy’s old video footage. Videos have also been completely planned out for I Don’t Mind Your Shell and also the song Marjorie Fargo. Most of these will probably be grainy, sometimes eerie films as Guy tends to prefer shooting with old analog cameras, and even has and occasionally uses an original Super 8 camera from 1968.

The band One Watt Sun featuring Chad Siwinski and Sean âGuyâ Wallis is currently recording a new Ep after about a two year hiatus to work on other projects. This as of yet untitled Ep is a vast expansion on their first album, Death Folk. While the first album toyed with electric songs and post punk sounds, this Ep is strictly electric and ardently energetic throughout its 6 songs. âWe wanted to basically make a garage rock album,â Sean from One Watt Sun states when asked about the new recordings. âEverything is being done live in my bedroom studio with Chad on drums and me playing guitar. Chad overdubs bass later and I do the vocals.â At least six songs have had the basic live tracks recorded so far but the band still plans on going through everything thoroughly to decide what will end up on the Ep. Both members have also been talking about a new full-length album since last Summer but they’ve agreed to wait and see where they are at once the Ep is finished.

The Great American Nosebleed, follow up to Children of Dawn Vol.1 is currently in its semi-final stages and should be finished hopefully in early 2012. This second and final volume is a continuation of the experimental writing style characteristic to The Death of Words. A political tone looms over the pages but writings range from abstract poetic pieces to dark, humorous and sometimes Bukowski-esque short stories. This book, like the first volume, will contain illustrations by Guy and is estimated to be roughly 20 pages longer than the original Death of Words. In the formatting and illustration stages now, the book will be posted on this site as a flipbook and for free download as soon as it is completed.

Alongside the newest album, Guy & Co. plan to release a cassette in early 2012. The cassette features songs, rarities and experimental recordings collected from the last ten or so years of Mount Weather and friends. It contains several B-Sides from the last couple MW albums as well as two unreleased rarities from Guy’s old band Geckin, played with drummer Luke Siwinski who committed suicide in 2006. Also included are a couple improvisations, one with a very young lineup of Dream Gallows, more than a year before they were a band. Recordings have been made on a variety of cheap cassette recorders, and also an original Tascam 424 analog 4-track from 1989, infamous for being used on many classic underground albums (and even a Bruce Springsteen album). Also used was the same clock radio tape recorder used on the Mount Weather âClock Radio Sessions,â the first known MW recording session. This limited cassette will originally be printed in a first time quantity of 50 and will be a rare, lo-fi gem.

A new Mount Weather album entitled Soft Madness is slated to be finished either late 2011 or early 2012. Songs have been casually recorded throughout 2011 but progress has been slow due to Guy moving to a new house and consequently having to rebuild his recording studio in his spare time. About half of the album was recorded in Guy’s parent’s garage in order to use his dad’s microphones and the other half in Guy’s bedroom at his new house. Currently, just two songs remain to be recorded and the album artwork to be finished. Two music videos have been planned to accompany the album’s release. The first one, Historical Fiction, has just been completed and added to this website. The second video, for the song Last Breath Before Coma, has been written out but not yet filmed and should be done sometime in Spring 2012.

Mount Weather: Historical Fiction from Mount Weather.
Music video for the first song on Mount Weather’s album Soft Madness. Starring the band’s unofficial canine mascot, Roxy, this uniquely self-filmed collage of footage shot by Justin and Sean makes for a piece both eerily pretty and quietly entrancing and is the perfect beginning for a new Mount Weather album.

Mount Weather: Heroin Blues Pt1 from Mount Weather.
First music video by the band Mount Weather. Intentionally a very short, very anti-commercial video, it is a dark instrumental song with an almost blues-like guitar line which adheres instantly to the grim visual nature of the video.

One Watt Sun: Fuck Knowing from Mount Weather.
The first video from underground band One Watt Sun featuring Chad Siwinski (bass - Like Patterns, bass - Dream Gallows, drums/bass/guitar - One Watt Sun) and Sean “Guy” Wallis (guitar/vocals/accordion - One Watt Sun, guitar/vocals/bass - Mount Weather, guitar/vocals - Dream Gallows). Calling their music “Death Folk”, this duo embarks on a lo-fi journey of experimental proportions to create a sound landscape that is no less than a dreamy, melodious and eerie form of acoustic soul music for the chemically influenced and inclined.
